Default s200 or s300

I'm getting my car dyno this Thursday. So far my only mods are I/H/E.
Comptech Air Intake w/ice box, Hytech Production header & Header back w/renault cat.

Im still undecided on my future mods, JRSC or all motor. Im looking to get 230hp out of the car, safe power nothing crazy.

Which one would you guys recommend the Hondata S200 or S300? And why? I dont want to get something thats overkill for my future plans. Im kinda new to this, former Domestic car owner so help me out.

Thanks

230hp at the wheels will require quite a bit of work if going the all motor route.

230hp at the crank is much easier to attain, but will require something like higher compression(various ways to do that), maybe a bigger cam, and tuning.

there really is no such thing as safe power. the "safe" comes from the build itself, and tuning.

the JRSC will easily get you 230whp.

as far as s200 or s300, I suggest going to http://www.hondata.com and read up on the different features of both. from my understanding, the s300 is much improved over the s200.

The s300 connects via USB instead of a serial cable, like the s200, allowing changes on the fly. There are some other changes that the website will tell you. Also the s300 sits in the ECU where the s200 has a little blue box that sits outside of the ECU.

Based on the price difference between the two I'd go with the s300 just from the features I stated above.

A 230whp goal will take quite a bit of work and $$$$. 2.0L, sleeves, hi comp, lumpy cams, etc. There are some members on here that have hit that number or close to it. Just search around. 92Type-R, Brastard, itralex, JUN-R to name a few users.

230whp can be very reliable using turbo. straight bolt on and control hp levels withing the car and better options for when/if you want more hp.. s300 is an upgrade from s200, both will do the job.

S200 = $300 vs S300 = $600

They both do the job except S300 is easier to work with, means easier for the tuner? Aslong as the tuner is good it shouldnt matter right?

Do you guys know if S300 requires the OBD 1 & p28/p72 ECU?

both s200 and 300 will do the job.. eventhough s300 has more features, you can still get reliable results using s200.
