Okay, I just bought an '88 Accord. Its a white two door with absolutely nothing wrong with the exterior or interior. The engine is blown, but the kid I bought it off of is throwing in a full motor and tranny he paid $293 for. I believe this is the A20 motor, so I have a few questions. Its an automatic, yet the motor comes with a manual tranny. Should I swap the tranny? I'll need a master cylinder, slave cylinder, pedals, shift linkage, etc. Now the car has 194,000 miles but is loaded. I KBBed it and it books for $1800...I paid $500. Will the 5 speed increase the value? KBB says no, but with gas prices, it adds about another 4-5 mpg. BTW I'm in western PA, so if anybody would like this car, I'll replace the engine and sell it for much cheaper than $1800. Just need some advice on what to do.

 

Which model is it DX, LX, LXI, and could u post pics.

but even if it's not completely wrecked 500 with a new motor isn't bad

as for the 5 speed swap why not? sounds fun
