Default got helms,snap on tool, now need the feeler gauge.

i know i need a feeler gauge that looks like this__/----
what size one should i get, i plan to go to sears and would like only to make one trip.

thanks.
edit, size i mean. like .001 to ????

I like using a 'go-no go' set of feeler gauges... They'll come in a complete set, just get the metric ones... You can buy individual sizes I think, but you're better off with the whole set.

all the ones i have seen had both metric and std on the same feelers

get the one with a variety of sizes. they're all hinged on one side and slide out like a fan. make sure the tools come with sizes ranging from .005-.010 (i use .006 or .008 on my specific motors) and you should be straight for a very long time.

Now you got me thinking... maybe they are standard, with seperate metric markings... Hmmm... I'll have to look when I get home. Perhaps I only ever look at the metric, and have blocked the standard from my cranium... Hmmm....
