Default Header Topic: Performance drawbacks from a header that is TOO BIG!!!!

Well I wanted to see everyone's experience with running a big custom header with minimal mods.

As some of you know I switched from the T1R header to a Lovefab custom 4-2-1 big tube header.

It could just be my mind tricking me but I swear the car feels like it revs slower. ROFL. Hmmmmm....I guess I am gonna retune the thing and see what it does. But as of now I can't really tell. I do know that it sounds quieter and better IMO.

Mods:

Hondata S200
Mugen CAI
Lovefab Header
SMS Cat
T1R exhaust
FPR
Fidanza flywheel
ACT HD Pressure plate and street disk
ATS 4.9

Stock motor minus the Toda timing belt

Basically stock ITR with Hondata and Skunk Stage 2 cams. Three headers tested-JDM ITR 4-1, Hytech big tube header, and the Comptech 4-2-1 race header.
The JDM 4-1 dominated from 6-8,000 rpm. The other two headers were great above 8,000 rpm.

Curious as to what relevency your last four modifications listed have on exhaust flow?

B19coupe can probably explain this better than anyone, but as far as I know, your header choice should be determined by how much air your engine is sucking in a pushing out. Back pressure from the header and exhaust system is also critical. If there isn't enough, then the pulses will be off. If there is too much, then your system will be restricted.
