Default How did you do your intake?

I was thinking about doing the slater intake but after thinking about it, I didn't want to put my motor at risk of hydrolock.

I'm going to put the filter right next to the battery, away from the heat. I want to route cold air from the front bumper through a dryer hose and place the hose right in front of the filter. I've seen a few people with this setup. I would like to know where I can see some step by step or details about this setup. What materials to use, etc. Is this a good idea for those with experience?

Thanks.

Just get your self a CAI with bypass valve. Problem solved.

But if you do do the short ram with dryer hose. Then stop buy home depot for supplies and start the modding.

hydrolock. Stay out of the far right lane and away from large pools of water. If you know its going to rain, don't plan on driving far. Common sense dude.

I've heard that the bypass valve will net a lost of a couple horsepower. I've read that the short ram will make just as much power as the cai, but I forgot under what conditions and where I read the article. Hence, I opt for the ram air.

I've spent a lot of time and money to build my motor. Don't have enough money for another one. The thing with puddles and nightime is that you don't always see them, especially in unfamiliar roads. This is my daily driver, I want to keep it that way. Which means that when I need to go somewhere, I have to go somewhere regardless whether or not it's raining. Everyone has common sense, some more than others .

Thanks for the help all. Any more constructive input is greatly appreciated.

I think we read the same articles. It's very helpful, and informative. Worth reading.
