Default clutch vibration/chatter while engaging only below ~1800-2000 rpm

My new clutch (300 miles) is vibrating while engaging. Its pretty pronouced but only when i take off very slow at low rpms, like in reverse. Normally I take off at about 1800 rpms and it doesnt do it then. IIRC it just started doing this.

Its a standard exedy clutch.

My thought is that I over-greased the input shaft, which i didnt think i did. I used a spare mainshaft to lube the clutch splines and just rubbed in a tiny bit in the splines of the input shaft to aid installation.

Or I may have used the wrong grease and it melted going on to the friction surface. I used black moly.

If I didnt follow the actual installation correctly by not torquing right or not aligning right I think I would have had this problem from the start.
I hope its just breaking in but I'm pretty sure I'm not that lucky.

Any thoughts?

my clutch chatters a ton. Mostly because it's a 6 puck. I didn't re-surface the face of my flywheel, did you? That is almost 100% your issue if you didn't re-surface it.

Actually you'll laugh at this. It was a brand new flywheel and I had it resurfaced anyway. Actually it wasn't that flat around the edges of the friction surface.

If it was brand spanking new I wouldn't of machined it. Some clutchs take a bit to break in aswell. Keep driving it, it might take a bit to break in.

standard oem replacement, not organic not puck. it does have the same style as the organic just a different part# for pressure plate and clutch disc.

It was a cheapie chrome-moly lightened flywheel (got it on a technicality, paid $1.99) so I had it done and I'm glad looking at the results. And I agree, the plan right now is to drive it for a while.

One other thing that I didn't mention is that the flywheel and clutch are the 92-00 civic 212mm models. Not the stock 200mm that came on the CRX.

Anyone else?

It being a 92+ flywheel shouldn't matter.

What do you mean by vibration? are you getting vibration that you can feel only in the pedal; or are you getting vibration that you can feel in the chasis and not in the pedal? Or a combination of both?

Good question. It feels like the whole front end of the car is shaking, vibrating the dash.

It sounds to me like it's chattering. I'd say just keep on driving it and hope it wears away. New clutches are weird sometimes man.

Probably just chattering like a few as said here. I remember when I had my 6-puk unsprung hub. Everytime I popped the clutch all my pennies in the little pocket would go flying out always thought something broke.
