YELLOW BULBS IN HIGHBEAMS...legal or illegal??
hey guys..sorry for the n00b question but i just got this free luminics yellow 9005 highbeam headbulbs and i was just wondering if its illegal or legal to use it in california..i don't have the yellow film on the lense or anythin like that.it's just the yellow bulbs im puttin it in the highbeams for my integra...has anyone ever done this and got pulled over??does it look nice??i want to try it out but i just don't want to get another fix it ticket...thanks guys..
To my knowledge, Back 9 months ago, I had the luminics jdm yellow highbeam bulb on my crx and I was pull over on the highway driving home from work at around 9:30pm. The highway officer gave me a ticket for a " fix it"
So it's been 9 months since I used them, not sure if Luminics made them any better than the old ones, but to my knowledge it is illegal.

Blue and yellow headlights. Headlights must be white - blue and yellow are illegal (24011 VC). Look for the DOT symbol on the bulb and package.
Plus, the light output on those yellow lights sucks. Why would you want to use headlights (highbeam, lowbeam, it doesn't matter) that make it more difficult to see?

whats the difference? how often do you use your high beams anyway? or you could just do the bulb conversion thing so they fit in your low beams
