My DA wont start up right away
i have a 90 4door with a b16a. It takes me at least 20 cranks to get the car started.when it does finally start, it starts up shaking for a couple seconds, then sounds fine, but when i give it gas it chokes , so i have to let it warm up for at least 5 min before i can drive it. Changed out tps, map, and fuel filter but didnt chande at all. thanks people !
I had the same problem with my DA. It turned out to be the fuel pump. You might want to see if fuel is reaching the filter, before changing the pump.
don't forget to check ur main relay! i had that same problem a few weeks ago and it drove me crazy. i changed the fuel pump, filter, i cleaned my intake system...EVERYTHING. it turns out it was just my main relay module. worth $60...or if u could resolder it u can.

behind driver's side panel near the fuse box...above ur left knee when u sit down... its in that general area.

Have you tried doing just a regular tuneup? Sounds to me like that could be your problem right there. Cant be your starter obviously if it is turning over 20 times and if it was your relay then it wouldn't start at all. Could be fuel pump tho. Good luck
i had the same problem and after i checked everything it ended up being my regulator. it was not holding enought fuel pressure. i changed it and the car starts right up every time
I was also going to say check the FPR, you can get them cheap off a forum, heck, I have one, or a junk yard. I'd also check the tune-up parts, plugs, cap, rotor, wires (resistance), etc. You could also remove the EACV from the back of the intake manifold and clean it out. Get a friend and check your throttle response with the car off, maybe your cable is loose or the throttle is sticking? Good luck.
