Default Trick to Install Accessory Belts?

In the midst of my swap I decided to get new accessory belts for the alt. and P/S. Is there a trick to getting these on? Timing belt seemed like cake compared to getting these damn belts on.

Any suggestions?

When I swapped the new engine in, I had the accessories off, and now they are just sitting loosely on the block....I have not tightened anything...

Shouldn't that mean that the tensioning bolts should be loose?

Ok, since the P/S pump is loose, I can take it off the bracket and then try to put the belt on....

I should have some help today, so hopefully my friend will have some input

are you using your h23 crank pulley and accessories??

if so, the belts are not gonna be easy to get on....use a flathead screwdriver and sorta pry them on there, just dont mess the belts up with the tip of the screwdriver....

I used a similar method, but for the timing belt I used a blunt awl(?) and wedged it under the belt, but onto the cam gear...kinda similar to a shoe horn.

The Alt. belt I loosened (2) bolts enough to get the belt on (I guess they are the tension/adj. bolts under the alt. itself?)

The P/S belt I completely removed the pump, slid the belt on and then carefully lined up the holes for the bolts while my buddy help the belt on.
