X2

other choices , costs about $200:

for JDM people or a stock look - Prelude type s intake with k&n filter.

or

AEM V2 ColdAir Intake

FYI: a preference
a short ram intake is better for mid range/daily driving
a cold air intake is better for top end, like at a track, but can be daily driven.

Yep, Thats what I have and I think its the best bang for the buck. Unless you are a JDM *****...Then the Type-S one is the way to go.

should i get a AEM v2 cold air intake or Type S intake + K&N filter?

which would produce better overall performance?

and does the type s intake + K&N filter have the better sound the aem one have?

none are going to do anything drastic.

technically the best overall setup would be any ole pipe with a properly sized velocity stack on the end.

I would go with an ebay intake and a velocity stack like this one:
http://www.bpinitiatives.com/products.html

Does anybody know if you have to relocate the battery to run a velocity stack with a short ram?

Ebay intake + good filter.

I have an ebay intake + Apexi filter + AEM bypass valve... and I love it, nice and affordable. Butt dyno likes it, and it sounds nice at WOT.

I prefer Iceman CAI's. They are plastic and do not conduct heat the way that the metal AEM products do.

That's what I have sitting in my garage right now. I should have a dyno comparison between my iceman intake and the BPi setup in two weeks.

Open head for maximum flow, y0
