Default Camber Kits?

I have a set of Tein Super Streets on the way, but I'm seriously debating a camber kit. Since the car at stock ride height seems to have some pretty negative camber, I'm assuming I'll need a camber kit once I get even lower. (I saw a pic of another Si on SS's and the rear looked very bad)

So now, I'm debating Comptech's kit, and SPC's kit since they are the only one's I've found so far.

Any opinions?

Wow they have camber kits out already? Nice.. we seem to be getting good aftermarket support for the 8th gen. Civic. At least the Si is.

I have a non-Si but I know what you 're talking about with the negative camber, especially in the rear. The owners manual says the rear camber should be around -1.3 deg. Mine seems to be at least -1.5, possibly -2.0.
A couple of alignments I 've seen from other LX/EX coupes (on other g8 forums) have up to -1.8L/-1.9R camber! Imagine lowering those cars another inch or more. Rear camber would be like -2.5 deg. which is not good on a FWD car. In the front it's fine but the rear wheels of our cars need less camber than that to handle well and more predictably.

I decided to go with Comptech camber kit for the front and rear. I'm not sure if I'll need the front, but I want to try and keep the camber and caster pretty much as stock as possible. I love the way the car handles right now, I really just need a lower stance.

I also picked up the comptech short shifter since it was conveniently for sale on comptech's site as well.

Just an FYI that the camber kit that Comptech is selling is the SPC camber kit. It says Comptech camber kit on the site but when you get it it is most certainly the SPC one.

I saw a blue Si yesterday that was lowered and had 18" wheels. The rear wheels looked very bad. Like almost -3.0 deg. of neg. camber. All that camber in the back just doesn't look good. My wife said "what's wrong with the wheels in the back, why are they crooked?" It looks like the car has a suspension problem to other people..

I have SPC front and rear camber kits on my civic. it makes it possible to lower it to the ground and raise it up to normal height with perfect camber. All with easy installation.
And yes the front is a bolt. and the rear is a replacement bar.

Yes, the wheels are not supposed to look like that at all. He had to do that to fit those monsterous wheels and slam it.

Have fun buying tires monthly

I concurr. Though the kit they are selling is only a 3 degree variable (plus or minus 1.5 degrees,) and their model car is lowered to the point they would need an easy 5 degrees of positive adjustment, there is really no way for them then to adjust their camber well, at least in the rear.

Now for the front... hell yes to camber plates and pillow-ball mounts when they become available. In fact, anything spherical or heim in nature, definitely going on my suspension.
