Default Spoon monblock fitment question

I purchased the Monoblock calipers, I understand that you need to run a 300mm rotor. But when searching for info most of the stuff in the archives was right around the time they were released.

Basically all I want to know is if these calipers will fit under 16'' wheel.

I understand I might need to use a spacer

thanks for the help

They fit under 15" wheels with the correct offset.

I thought that they need to be used with 282mm rotors....

Are you sure? Do you have a pic by any chance to support your claim?

I was under the assumption that you needed to use a 16" wheel at minimum with the monoblock calipers.

I was under the assumption that you needed a 300mm rotor.

and thinking back on all the cars that i've seen using them, they were using a 17'' wheel I just want to make sure they will work with my 16x7 before I finish ordering all of my other brake components

I'm pretty sure there is noway possible these brakes would ever fit under a 15'' wheel.

Those are the twinblock calipers though. We're discussing the monoblock calipers in this thread.

if moofx could just come in here it will solve all the problems regarding what rotor to use.

the question about a monoblock fitting under a 16 is still unanswered

I don't mean to threadjack, but I've never seen any information comparing the monoblock and twin-block but I've always been curious... does anyone have any links?

I think moofx tried them out, I believe he said the difference was negligible

yeah I already have them the diffrence in price "FOR ME" was only 100 dollars so why not.

but when I purchased them I was under the impression that they would fit under a 16'' wheel.

but now I am unsure and i'm also unsure of what front rotor I am supposed to order.

I know you need a 300mm by 26mm but im not sure what app. uses that

The rotor you could probably get to fit is from a TSX.

16inch wheels will fit - I believe if it's an SW388, it has to be a +35mm 16X7.

Count on running a good amount of negative camber to clear your fenders or wide fenders basically.

Need anymore help? http://www.aj-racing.com is probably the place to figure it out for you.

Yeah I bought the calipers at aj-racing and they have not been able to help me out at all.

All I want to know is what app. I order the rotors for.

First, you need to know if you got the kit specifically for your car.
You haven’t mentioned if you have a Type R or a civic with 5 lug, but I’m guessing that is what you have. The following bold info is straight off of the Spoon page.

Monocoque Caliper Forward (Left)
INTEGRA TYPE-R [DC2, DB8(98Spec)*]
45019-MBF-G00

Monocoque Caliper Forward (Right)
INTEGRA TYPE-R [DC2, DB8(98Spec)*]
45018-MBF-G00

(The same part numbers for EK9)

* You must use Brake Rotor part # 45251-5H11416

Brake Rotor (F)
INTEGRA TYPE-R[DC2,DB8(98Spec)], CIVIC TYPE-R[EK9]
For monocoque caliper installation
Outside diameter:300mm
Thickness:26mm

If your part numbers have an “MBR” instead of “MBF” then they are for S2000/DC5/EP3 and won’t have the correct mount adapters.

As for what other stock rotor you can use, I don’t know.

My wife is Japanese and searching right now, but she doesn’t know anything about cars, so she might not find what you need.

not sure if i'm seeing this right, but if your lug nuts have a tapered face, you might want to use the acorn style lug nuts. the stock itr wheels use only acorn style lug nuts!

They fit under the 16 spoon wheels on the s2k so I would imagine they do fit under certain 16 wheels. As to what rotors to use I have no idea.

Didn't mikehonda have them on his for awhile with the active gate rotors?

From what I can tell these were made to be direct replacements for s2000's. Kinda like twin-blocks are for DC2R's. So I would get an S2000 front rotor and put it on and check it out.

PS. The wife didn't come up with anything helpful. Sorry.
