2001 integra gsr
i just bought my first integra 25,000 miles immac condition. i think im pretty lucky finding a good starter car in perfect condition... and although i dont think i plan to turbo it because i wouldnt want to ruin a new engine... what do you guys think should be future plans with the car once maintanence is required... (ie: cams, clutch.... etc)
first you have to decide what your goals for the car are. what will you be using the car for? daily driving? auto-x?
after you do that, i would look into suspension. if you need adjustability, go with a nice set of coilovers. look into tein. or, you could go with ground control and koni yellows. that is a very popular set up. when doing suspension, if you slam your car, you will need to look into a front camber kit. also, you may or may not have trouble with the rear lower control arm bolts, so bank on buying new rear lca's, also. don't forget an alignment when doing suspension work.
next, i would do basic intake, header, exhaust. search for each one, as you will find many threads as to what performs best etc. personally, i would just get an ebay short ram or cold air intake and throw on a k&n filter and call it a day for the intake.
next, look into a header. depending on your budget, you can look at anything from DC to spoon. again, search as to see if you want a 4-2-1 or a 4-1.
finally, look into exhaust. a good hig flow cat, followed by the cat back of your choice. if you want quiet, go with rsr ex mag or apexi ws. if you want ricey loud, anything else will really suffice.
this should keep you occupied for a while.

my bad tha adjustable coilovers im new with this thread bs but yeah i like them so stiff... just gets annoying on riverside roads at time but they still great
well suspension is the first thing you would want to put on... to be a true integra owner you better slam it as soon as you get... get some high dollar coilovers! its worth it!

anytime something starts to go bad on the car upgrade to a better part. if the clutch goes, buy a nice aftermarket full face clutch with light weight flywheel.
comptech icebox, and a nice header would prolly be good for starters too.

Save your money and don't get headers, intake, and exhaust...it eats more gas then usual, its loud and annoying for daily driven... i took mines out and the ride is quiet as hell and saves me a couple bucks at the pump... just my .02cents of course my car has a nice suspension with some rims
i dont think anyone realized i said i had eibach coilovers.. and some 17s.. and exhaust i was thinking more along the lines of info with on turbos and i know if you set it up right your engine is safe but qwhat are some pointers !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

its known that a decent aftermarket intake and exhaust will raise mpg a little. both my I/E integra and I/H/E b16 hatch get better mileage than theyre supposed to get, so i believe it.

well i've been tuning GSR's for a while now (5 years) I'v gone all motor most of the time but we spend so much money on parts for 5-6-7-maybe 10hp at a time i'v seen all motor GSR's get 220whp and they hall-*** but now a days you have cars coming out with crazy hp so to keep up my 2000 GSR I went turbo at 8psi hondata tuned I made 269whp@7890rpm and ran 13.22 at palmdale and for those who know palmdale is a funky track my car has been turbo for 8 months and no problems at all it was all bolt on power so when you smog just take the turbo off and the stock p72 in less than 3 hours and your stock agin but if you go turbo just make sure get tuned never run a turbo with out be tuned right I'v seen people blow up motors because the tuning was not done. if your going to race make sure you do it right the first time I got my GSR with 48k and its a 2000 with every thing stock but the turbo and ecu... my turbo kit has every thing you need to make 270hp safe like RC 550 inj and fuel pump ect... just mke sure you get hondata or something like it... and your car will last forever and remember tuning is the key!!!!!
