World Sport modification
Howdy guys
Well, i was really bored a couple days ago, so i decided to unbolt my muffler section, just to see what it would sound like. Obviously, my car turned into a noise pollution factory, and i quickly remounted the muffler back on.
So i began to think. When i get a new header (either rmf or smsp), the collector is going to be 2.5, which means im gonna need to get a new cat as well. Then i began to think about my worldsport catback. I want to upgrade, when i get the header and cat, to 2.5 inch piping, as not to have my exhaust system bottleneck. But the thing is, i love my worldsport muffler so much, it produces the exact kind of sound that i had always wanted from my car, and i wouldnt trade it for anyother exhaust system.
Now the meat of my question:
Can i, when i go 2.5, mod the muffler so instead of 2.36 going into the muffler, i can weld 2.5 pipe going into it? Thanks in advance you guys.

You can just weld bigger pipe to the muffler but the muffler core is 60mm or less, so you're defeating the purpose of a kickass header and hi-flow 2.5" cat.
It'll just be a huge bottleneck at the end of your system.
Apexi makes a universal WS but the problem is 2-fold: 1) the muffler is straight through instead of chambered like the one that comes with your catback system and it won't sound the same 2) the only two sizes available are 60mm and 80mm (80mm is 3" and is for turbo apps).
If you like a more subdued sound, I would recommend a Magnaflow universal muffler with two 14" resonantors and stainless piping. If you want to make more power, you'll need more flow, so you have to add a little more noise to a certain extent. Flowmaster makes chambered universal mufflers that you could also try. They make some quieter performance mufflers.

Hmm, damn, i was thinkin about that.
Anyways, perhaps i will just get some phatty *** resonators along with a magnaflow, or maybe even a thermal. Gah, i dunno. This whole exhaust business is beginning to get expensive.
RMF/SMSP headair
Cat
New exhaust w/muffler and resonators
Fuel Management
Tuning
****...lol
But thanks for you help. Anyone else care to chime in?
