Does anyone know the difference between the short and long neck filters?

I have a short ram, but am missing the filter and was having trouble finding a regular short neck for it.

Just wondering if I would have any problems installing the longer neck on the short ram and what, if anything, would be different.

The neck being that rubber part going around the intake tubing?
I wouldn't see any kind of difference other then how much it goes on, if that's what you mean.

 

ya, the actual filter. i think the long necks are for the cold airs, but was wondering if i would have any problems.

np, you might just have to push it on a bit farther or something.

Just make sure it's a good brand filter

it may or may not rub on something. i run a 3" itr short ram on my gsr with stock IM and it sits right up next to my radiator overflow. based on where the filter sits on my friends gsr short ram i think you should be fine though.
