difference between 96-97 b18c5 and 98+ b18c5?

Default difference between 96-97 b18c5 and 98+ b18c5?

Hi.. i want to do a motor swap and it costs 5400 for type r 96-97 and 5800 for type r 98+... is there any difference between the two and if i do get the 98+ how can i tell it from the 96-97? thanks so much!

The gear ratios are different and i think 5 more horsepower.
