Default how wide can I go on rims on a 5th gen?

My tires are bald as hell and I need to replace them. I was thinking if just getting some new rims. How wide can I got before its too wide? Is 7.5" too wide? Also, does anybody have pics of tsx rims on their 5th gen?

I have used 7.5" wide without any problems. you just need to get offset of around 50mm.

There is a guy on absoluteprelude.com that was running 17x8s on his 5th gen. Here is a bit of what he said regarding it ...

"As far as wheel clearance, I am not rubbing at all and have not rolled the fenders. You can get away with an 8" wheel provided you get the right offset(pretty much only +48 to +50 will work), dont drop the car too much"

I'm running 17x7.5 +48offset wheels with 215/40 rubber and a 1.25-1.5 inch drop without any problems even under a 4 person load.
