Default Starting a project, need help deciding on my route.

Ok, I'm starting a project with a EG hatch or coupe (which ever i find first.)

Right now I'm in the process of finding a high milage EG with a body that is in okay shape.

The reason I made this thread is because I really don't know what route to go with the engine. I have done research, but I can't decide what the best route is to get to my goal. My goal is to have a fairly reliable street car that can run low 12's or even high 11's if im lucky. I want the car to be a beast from a stop and low-mid mph roll, dont really care much for top end power. Up untill now, I've wanted a h22a because I thought it was the best engine and nothing is better, but after I actually did some reasearch, I started liking the b18 motors too.

So, my question to you guys is, what would you do if you had the same goal as me? b18c1 + b16 head + boltons&Turbo? h22a+boltons&Turbo? any other motor im leaving out?

Also, when im done with the whole swap, I would like to have A/C and Power Steering. I say power steering because im not sure if any of the old Civics came without it.

sooooo yea... gimme some ideas!

Sorry if this has been asked a lot, but please dont flame me lol, because I actually read the sticky's and other threads.

Oh... and I have a budget of around $3500 - $4000 for the engine and any other parts (bolt ons, wheels/tires, turbo) And I'm going to be letting a local shop do the install so ill have to pay for labor I'm too scared to do it myself because I really don't want to do somthing wrong and have to deal with it after.

you need to sacrafice luxury for speed... no ac no powersteering.. if you wanna go that fast.. also if you had a completely gutted hatch wiht a h22 with a b series trans you will have good numbers.. but not 11's you will need some serious reasearch.. sounds like we need to crawl before we walk..

Yea I kno i dont wanna end up at 11's right after teh swap, i mean thats where im gonna end up with my car when its all done. I just wanted to know which engine has more potential, and responds best to mods.

Forget power steering i dont need that, but i NEED a/c... it gets hot enough where i live in the summer for it to be a problem not having a/c
