Default My DC2 Project (paint and other crap)

*****COMPLETED PICS ON PAGE 3*****

I'm bored so I figured I would make a post showing one of the projects I am working on.

It is a 94 Integra and it was completely keyed to the bare metal, covered in old body work(bad), door dings, dents, rust, rock chips, etc... So it's a ton of work to get it looking good.
Here are some of my pics so far(the only camera I have is on my phone):

Before:

Day 1:

New Exhaust

Day 2:

Day 3:
Adding sidemarkers

Shaving mouldings

Day 4:

New Springs

Well this is totally a low budget project for the woman. There will be a total of $3000 spent on the car including the purchase cost. The exhaust is the eBay replica of the Greddy EVO2

Not sure what they are actually made for, but I got them basically for free and they look nice. I'm really not into the whole "JDM" thing. I say if it looks good, then it works for me. No point in paying a christload of cash for a bunch of little things because they will make my car look like one from another country.

Good springs>Cheapo coils. Plus, she isn't exactly going to be hitting the track with it.

Thanks guys. This project is a little tiring with school coming to a close for the semester and everything, but I think it will come out really nice when it's all done. Here is the more recent progress:

Day 7:

Ahh, the last of the real bodywork

Everything looks nice and straight

All primed up and ready for final sanding and paint

Well it's nice to have the body work all completed. Next update will include fitting the front and rear lip and prepping the bumpers and wing. Hoping to get painted on Saturday and have the whole car put back together next week

I decided that I'm going to do the jambs, so painting is going to have to be held off until next Sunday. Here are some newer pics

Day 8
The kit fit quite well and I think it's going to look pretty nice

First of all, I would like to give you props on not jumping on the bandwagon with this JDM bullshit.

The car is looking good. You are definitely not wasting any time, but it's looking like it's going to turn out great!

shave the front plate holes while you still can ... it will make a so much cleaner look for the front ...

did it on my old EK 96-98 front and it made all the difference

I would've done that, but the cops in this area are crazy ****'s. If you don't have your license plate "affixed to the foremost part of the vehicle", then you get a ticket.

Day 9:

Well I got the roof sawed off to make my new convertible

Okay, not really. That was just a bad picture lol

Sprayed the primered areas with flat black spray paint to make it easier to see when it is sanded.

Bumpers ready for primer

Hand blocked some areas to make sure they come out straight

Time for some din din

I'll post the update for Day 10 and 11 later tonight

Day 10:

Doing jambs sucks

The primer on the spoiler wrinkled, so I'm going to have to try to smooth it out and re-prime it

Day 11:

I got almost all of the final sanding done and I think it's pretty straight

Dads dog

Should be painting tomorrow evening, so I'll have one more days worth of pictures, then no more until I have it all back together.
