Because real "JDM" cars have clear...



Just curious since everyone is on the "JDM" bandwagon.

 

Because the Amber ones were made by a Japanese company called Vision. They were not stock on EGs. Somone at some point got a pair of Visions put them on their EG, went to a car show, someone asked where they were from, more came in, fakes started to be made, and now you have people calling them JDM.

I run the JDM clear ones cuz they look better than the USDM.

I started noticing amber corners after SCC did their Project Civic hatch. They got 'JDM' Stanley amber corners JDMHondaParts.com and I guess it took off from there. Not too sure why people put amber corners on EVERYTHING now, even cars that were never available with them. They don't even look good with them

Those things suck so hard they could suck start a leaf blower.

i've always wondered how they came about also. i always saw them on the vision cars, then BOOM!

more people probably have the stock clear corners than have real visions.

and something most people forget is that you are seeing the best of the best on this forum. average on honda-tech is not average everywhere. yes there are a lot of things that get played out on this site, but what people dont take into concideration is the small percentage of people on this site compared to the overall number of people that are into hondas. the whole "honda-trend" thing is getting annoying....

That's why i said "On this forum", but i'm seeing them on almost every modified EG in person now. I'll admit, i had the phoney amber ones, i picked them up two years ago for $14 shipped, the car came with APC clears when i bought it and i hated the diamond texture they had on the sides. I didn't know what they were, i just thought they looked better and they were the cheapest alternative. Those broke (my fault) and went flying down the street when i hit a oppossum, so i picked up a set of the clear version of the Visions knock offs because they were the cheapest thing available. *shrug*

i had real visions back in the day...that makes me hardcore.

 

i first heard of Vision amber corners from TBR.
i got my eg in dec 2001 and made my own.
few seats of ebay amber corners later... I now have the JDM corners. I like them 100x better.

 

i think the Stanley clears are way hotter than any smoked Visions will ever be. but i rocked the vision knock-offs on my EG, though...oh well.
