Hey guys looking around at cars and found a cheap 93 accord lx and was wondering what you guys thought of this model?

 

the question you should ask yourself is:

what do you think of the current owner and how they've taken care of it?

After a while, miles don't matter so much as proper care.

I.e. I'd rather have a high mile car that was taken car of instead of a low mile car that was neglected.

 

pay the cash and get the car inspected at your local dealer or trusted independent shop... that way you will know what you are getting into.

 

Personally as far as pre-purchase inspections go I'd go with an independant shop, cause the dealer will nitpick at everything(and sometimes staright up lie). Most dealerships are flat rate so when the tech is inspectiong he's just picking jobs that will make him quick money.

 

get it checked out by a reputable shop or dealer. They are great cars. One of the best hondas out there as far as reliability and ease of repair. Except for the rust in the quarters, can't really do anything about that.

 

Like they said, get it checked out and find out the service history. Personally, I LOVE my '91 EX which is also a 4th gen, but yours (luckily) doesn't have those d@mn auto seatbelts. Easy to mod (if that's your thing) and great on gas. It's a definite "go for it" from me.

 

93 lx here, i had a few problems but when you get a car with almost 200k miles then you should expect it.

been reliable and runs great other than that.
