ok, so i've spent about a year trying to get my stuff together and figure this out, to get ready to do it. gathered all the parts, motor, etc. heres what i have.
Car - 1991 Honda Civic DX Sedan (d15b2, DPFI)
new Motor - d16a6, MPFI
So i purchased the injector plugs, the injector resistor box, and a PM6 ECU as well, to avoid depinning and repinning my stock PM5. Now the only instructions i can find are for installing a ZC, nothing like what I'm doing. What EXACTLY do i need to do to make this all work? I'm so confused, and its probably REALLY simple, but I'm just so lost at this point on how to get this thing working that I'm gonna just ask for help... thanks guys!

from what iv been told sohc zc is the same motor just from japan so those instructions should work..

isnt the pm5 from the dpfi engine? if so you cant even use that ecu for mpfi .. and your going to have to repin the pm6 still unless you meant something els.

ya its pretty simple, as long as you take out the harness and do all the connections... its really not that hard.. once you start doing it youll understand it more.. but feel free to ask any questions... honda-tech is probably your best bet... ALOTTA HELP here

my question is this., i suppose. i'm so lost i dont even know where to start anymore.
ok, so i KNOW SOME wires are gonna have to get run to the new PM6 ECU... but which ones? I dont know which wires to run thru the firewall to the ECU.
<u>janz3n:</u>
and as per using the PM5, i'm not using the PM5, i took the PM5 right out and i'm replacing it with the PM6, i Know i cant use the DPFI ECU for MPFI..

i did this same swap using this info.. good luck and thanks to Kenji Plennert..
always leave enough wire for next steps!!!!
and remember for solid connections try to solder everything.. with shrink wrap.
start at the ecu:
inside car pins b10 and b12 are unused...
cut wires from C1 and C2
C1 will be connected to b10 and
C2 will be connected to b12
(hint) c1 is orange and c2 is white.
Next run new wires from the original pins of c1 and c2 into the engine compartment and label them for later use..use plenty of wire better safe than sorry.. next run two more new wires directly from pins A3 and A7... those should also be extended into the engine compartment..
under the hood.. your tps and eacv wires must be extended... also the two outside wires on your tps need to be switched... (tps runs opposite on dpfi)
Now for the fun stuff...lol..
Injectors and resistor box...
Your going to connect your two yellow with black stripe wires to the yellow with black stripe wire on the resistor box..
Next
Connect the yellow wire from the DX injector to the #1 injector (brown wire).
Connect the red wire from the DX injector and run it to the #3 injector (blue wire).
Connect the A3 wire to the #2 injector (red wire).
Connect the A7 wire to the #4 injector (yellow wire).
Connect the 4 red/black wires from injector resistor box to each injector.
you also have to connect two more wires for your cylinder position sensor..
these wires should be located on your dizzy..
Connect C1 to blue/green wire on cylinder position sensor plug.
Connect C2 to blue/yellow wire on cylinder position sensor plug

go to the faq thread at the top of this forum and click on dpfi to mpfi swap theres like 6 different sites that tells you exactly what do do for wiring. its pretty simple. this is the one i used http://crf50.no-ip.com/fourthgenhatch/mpfi.html

ya props to that one to!!! like i said i did alot of research before i did mine... that was probably one of if not the best one i found..even tells you what color the wires are.. and gives you the pin diagrams for the ecu....
My best advice...take your time.. less mistakes, im sure everyone here can vouch for that!!

lol i took about 8 hours then over the course of 2 or 3 months of working on it i just got my car running perfect last week. i kept getting code 9 . i dont know what i did to fix it though lol, but ya even though i spent 8 hours i still did something wrong. and this was in rain and snow outside ******* sucked. also make sure your distributor is good check it for resistence(ohms) cuz mine was bad and had to buy another one used. over all though its great to have an extra 10 or so hp.
ok i am performing kinda same thing dropping SOHC ZC into a 89 CRX DX i have the dx engine harness but not sure where all the pluggs go been looking at wiring diagrams and all but can't figure it out, how do i use the dx engine harness for the zc motor i know i will need to wire in injectors and all but not to clear on to where and from thease wires go. ECU i am using is PR3 got this swap from a 90 CRX HF some help would be great egine sitting above rollin chasi will be the cars first engine sence i have owned it really wanting it to work thanks
all the info you need is inthe mpfi write ups.. use the 4th gen write up its the best and shows lots of pictures. mpfi swap is the same for any zc engine as it is for just replacing the intake manifold.
ok where can i find these write ups? been looking for a minute now and can't seem to find them any chance you can shoot a link? thank you for the reply getting burnt out on this swap already.
Hey Janz3n ok i went to your http://crf50.noip.com/fourthgenhatch/mpfi.html and that is basicly well EXACTLY what i needed i feel like an idiot not reading up, now just one last questions those diagrams showing how to wire the injectors to ecu and such is that the right and same way i could do it on my PR3 ecu?
