Default 96 Civic Ignition Module question?

I’m getting a 96 from my mom this weekend, but her Ignition Module (ITC) is bad. I’ve read that there are Hitachi and ITC types of modules. The guy working on hers says its ITC and wants to charge her $300 for a new one and installation.
I’m not the one that pulled the original and have no idea what it looks like.
I’m wanting to go to a salvage yard to get a new one and was wondering what is the easiest way to tell which type is in the donor car?

Thanks for your time and help.

If I was going to the junk yard, I'd get the entire dizzy and just swap out distributors. In that way you can fix the old one and keep it as a backup.

That sounds great, but does it matter if I go from one type to another?
