Default Cheap sleeper...

I'm looking for ideas for a cheap sleeper build. I have a 90 crx si. Basically wondering what would be the easiest or cheapest way to get it into the mid-high 12s. Still want it to look slow however. So I wasn't sure if I should do a swap, or do the internals of the d16 and boost it. But, basically trying to do it without spending a ton...My mustang already takes up most of my time and money.

Thanks.

You could sell the mustang and build her properly to run 12's so you don't blow her up doing a cheap over powered build.

I'm just looking for a fast, fun, cheap daily driver. I don't mean cheap as in using bubble-gum and duct-tape to hold a turbo in. I mean, doing it right, but not spending a fortune and going overboard.

And I'd never sell my mustang for the crx. The whole reason I bought the crx was just to daily drive cause I can't do that with the mustang. Still no reason why I should get my *** handed to me by the crappier mustangs out there with owners who think they're gods. I think it's fun to have a stock, slow appearing car that will completely smack a good portion of the cars on the road. I know it was fun in Tall Kyle's crx with the old turbo setup...

Yeah I would say buy two D's and turbo it. Since it'll be a DD running high boost I would have a spare motor on hand, but two D's are cheaper than a B16 so I'd say thats a very legitimate option.

b16a longblock
ls tranny
junkyard turbo
stealthmode D-I-Y turbo manifold
sourced and pieced intercooler pipes
dsm BOV
dsm 450's injectors
junk yard intercooler

throw spinners on the rex. lol

naw but seriously, you can make nearly 190 to 220 hp from a boosted b16a turbo if you do your research.

you will probably never find the words cheap, reliable and fast in the same sentence.
