I have an h22a4 block. Im in the process of doing a tranny swap. My question is, will the half shaft from any h22 (a, a4) bolt up to the block or do i need one specifically from an a4. It looks like the bracket that was on there was custom welded to fit and i broke it on accident.

 

do arent by chance running an SH block are you? If so you need a custom mount for the intermediate shaft.

no all USDM 5th gens are H22a4s. The SH block has a different intermediate shaft because of the ATTS unit. So if you wanna make an SH blck fit you need a custom mount for the intermediate shaft to bolt to the block. Search around, theres a few threads about it.

 

it is a 5th gen swap. so i'll prob have to find a shop to make one for me. Do you think it would be safe to drive the car with only the top part of the bracket welded on? the shop is about 15 miles away
