If there is a serial number under the B16a, then it's USDM, if it just says B16a, and nothing else, it's JDM.

if its jdm it will say B16a and thats it,,,not b16a1,b16a2,etc....

also obd1 will have the grey plugs and obdo will have the whitish looking plugs

also the valve covers are different between the 1g jdm b16a and 2g..focus on the words

1g

2g

also there is a date stamped on the engine which would help..

and the 1g intake manifold has "PGM-Fi " on it and the 2g does not..

some times that **** doesnt matter though,,becaues i found out i have a 2g b16a ,,but with 1g intake manifold and dizzy..old motors have lots of stories sometimes

You can tell if you have an OBD 0 or OBD 1 buy the color of the plugs.

Milky white plugs = OBD 0

Grey plugs = OBD 1

I fawkin hate those dashpots on the damn intake manifold on the 1gen b16 anyway around those damn dashpots? Can I remove them?

not true^, the electrionics and wiring could have been switched, along with the intake manifold, look for the date stamp above the exhaust manifold, the serial # on the motor for 1st gens starts witha 1 if it starts with a 3 its a 2nd gen

the valve cover is a difference between US market and Jdm, not 1st and 2nd gen

yeah thats true.,....but im comparing jdm 1g b16a to a jdm 2g b16a..and if you've ever seen a 1g b16a you'll notice it looks like the usdm valve covers..
