Please help!! :( ... misbehaving rpm
I've been having this problem for over a month now and have no idea what to do...
It all started when my idle would oscilate between 1000 and 1500. That was taken care of by a Honda mechanic who cleaned the FITV...
Since then the rpm was never proper despite my thorough cleaning out of the FITV, IACV and PCV...
What happens is: sometimes I come to a stop in D4, rpm @ healthy ~800. Suddenly the rpm will jump to over 1000 and stay there while I have to floor the brake pedal. After a while (sometimes longer) the rpm falls to normal idling. If this happens when I need to drive, the rpm will be relatively higher than normal and eg. gear change will occurr I feel later, or rpm will not fall as readily after taking my foot off of the gas pedal at speed.
What should I be looking for? What may be the problem?

Any vacumm leak will cause an irregular idle speed has adding more air to a EFI engine will cause a higher idle speed and the ECU will try to compensate. Also a air pocket in the cooling system will send conflicting messages to the ECU causing a erratic idle through the TW sensor. Good luck!
Thanks guys - very much appreciated!
I did clean the IACV and there was ~some improvement, so I'll have a look at the coolant ie. bleed + replace.
As for the vacuum leak... anybody got diagrams for the lines? I had my hood replaced after a fender bender so I don't have any stickers (I think there was something there about vac. lines).
Very few of there cars around here so I don't have anyone who could show me on theirs

Got it...!
I actually found someone with a USDM frost white Accord here, willing to pop the hood and take a pic... As soon as I have the time, I'll check the vacuum hoses. Maybe a while because I was discouraged from any tinkering after having changed my main relay... it was a b**ch to get to...
So, again, thanks for the info!

Update:
I ordered a new set of seals for the PCV and the FITV and installed them. Easy. The car runs smoother now, and even my dad who is not very good at noticing things noticed that that too
So, good idea to do that as well as cleaning etc
