Default Looking for advice on EJ1 repair - Flood Damage

Ok, so before getting into details about what happened and why, here's the scenario:

93 EJ1, 140k miles - Spent approx 1hr fully submerged in water. Currently sitting and drying, battery is pulled. No evidence of gas or oil in water.

Already accepted the fact that this car is dead/fried/kaput. Still thinking about making some final attempt to get it started just to see if it is possible.

Suggestions on steps to take to try to start the car again? Not looking for full repair of everything just suggestions on what to try. Car is/was nearly stock, AEM CAI, Si Rims... some interior bits. Nothing fancy.

Sweet, plugs pulled and the cyls shot out all the funk and gunk in there with quite a show (shot a good 7-8 feet in the air). Replaced some fuses, new plugs, new wires. Drained the oil, but this oil looked like coffee with creamer, i mean nasty. Even found that gunk inside the AEM CAI up near the throttle body. Replaced oil, pulled CAI (got a SRI with filter somewhere in my garage), and the damn thing started up with some coaxing. Burning off oil and gunk, nice white smoke everywhere.

Next step is to start on electronics. Might look at putting in a new ECU. No plans to swap in a new engine for this poor thing now (got a 96 Hatch for that), so another stock EJ1 ECU should work yes? Will it matter if it was pulled from a manual or an auto?
