Default Step 1: My Exhaust System

So I'm kind of new to the whole car deal thing so I need some pointers on which to go with. I"m starting to look at exahusts, and what are some good exhuasts? I have an 02 Si

I've been looking at Spoon Sports and Skunk2
anyone have some suggestions.. or is stainless steel stainless steel?

-btw I was hearing that I more or less needed a catback exhaust... if anyone looked on http://www.spoonsports.us is theirs a catback, cause it doesn't out and say it

Hmm, well... how much do you want to spend? How much do you want to replace? Are you going to keep the engine you've got now, or is a swap a possibility?

To compare performance differences, I'd compare the dynos between different exhausts of the same brand. They probably use the same testing methods and the same dyno, so the differences in that company's different exhausts would probably be accurate.

For sound, you'd have to hear some for yourself, and dig around online to find decent recordings. ClubRSX has a thread posted with a collection of exhaust sounds, for example, and Fujitsubo posted sound files of their exhausts on their website (www.fujitsubo.co.jp).

Somewhere, there's also an exhaust sound compilation (I think it's lifted from a Best Motoring video) that has a DC5-R doing passes with maybe a dozen different exhausts, ranging from stock through Mugen and some crazy loud track-only exhaust.

Don't bother with H- or B- or D- series motors anymore. The K-series engines are where it's at.

It was in response to this:

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by IsitCosIisBlack &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">How would a good engine swap be? Like people are syaing the H22a.. which is the 00? prelude if I am wrong w the code</TD></TR></TABLE>

It sounded like he ^^ was asking about swapping an older motor into an EP, so I responded with a "don't bother".

wut he said.... :-P

and Dont swap any other series in there... K-series is what your lookin for... the Z3 is a lil weaker...but there are some pretty straight forward mods to get it up to the other guys, if your gonna do a whole swap go with a type-s motor, or k20a...MMM type-r....

What I mean is that if you're going to swap anything into an EP, make it a K-series motor. K20A, K20A2, K24A2, or any of the other K24 blocks to build into monster engines of their own. You'll get more power for less effort by sticking with the K's.

I'm trying to decide what kind of swap I want to do for mine, too.

K series swaps..... k20a (220hp) K20a2(200hp)

In my honest opinion if you were thinking abotu an engine swap you would be crazy to go with a D B O H series in an ep3, TOTALLY CRAZY. k-series is new technology, if anything the a or a2 engine. But in my opion you should just use force induction i.e. turbo!!!!!!!!!!! same , even cheaper then an a2 swap and youll be pulling about 250-300whp on a 3grand kit (rev hard, cybernation, greddy).

As for exhaust.... HKS!!!!!!!! best one imo, although they all show about the same gains

other good ones... greddy evo2, apexi, skunk2, etc.
