How To: LSD Traction Bar Install
So i've had these bars sitting around for long enough, i figured since it was a nice day out i'd get them out of the kitchen, lol. They are the Lsd/Jk Motorsports traction bars. They are very strong and not to hard on the wallet. I picked mine up about 3 months ago, but i wanna say they are going for abour $275 shipped now.
Well here ya go!

Drain your coolant...

when your dont w/ that take out your radiator
You can start unbolting
I chose to start w/ the radious arms 1st
I used a rench (14m)

And another view

Then the crossmember
I used air tools ( 17m)

You'll have this...

And under the car

After that i took of my tow hooks, just the 3 bolts (14m)

Next you'l have to cut off the factory rad. mounts on the LSD TB's they have new mounting points, others may require you to re-use them

And now off

Now you bolt up your new bar to the tow hook blots

Put your radious arms on and start bolting

This is how the RA brackets go!

And they're on!

Now all you have left to do is install the radiator... I put together a "make shift" bracket till i have the materals to do something nicer...

Now fill your coolant, adjust your radious arms a bit and hit the road!
P.s. You might want to get a wheel alignment Soon!

it's about the same as the stock crossmember.
BTW: IMO since it eliminates wheel hop, frees up Plrnty of room for headers or down pipes, and allows you to use the 1/2 size rad. it's worth every penny

my buddy has one on his race car(crx w/ about 25k under the hood/susp!), he says it was one of the first things he installed, and that it felt like his cornering doubled... exaggeration- yes... heh... but it help TREMENDOUSLY...
I'm definatly getting one. He got one from a company in Canada for like $200 shipped.
It's bright orange, so maybe it's the only one in production that color.. so it should be fairly easy to find.. I just can't for the life of me remember the name!?
ANywy. I promise you won't be happy!

Clean bar but that axle looks kinda close on that bracket. Brackets for the traction bar system will create a weak point. Our kits we dont use any brackets which create a stronger piece and are made out of thick square tubing.

Does this work with the stock radiator as well?
Did you need to remove your radiator to install this? It looks like you could have done it without removing the radiator.
Do these improve handling enough to be worth it for autocross? I would really like to improve my turning abilities, and if one of these helps I might have to pick one up!

1. depends on the brand
2. not if you can suspend it or keep it up while you do the swap.
3. YES! You'll see a MAJOR difference.

Yes there are provisions to use the stock radiator with the bar too. Both options come on all my Traction Bars.
Axle to LCA Mount Clearance is fine. There is plenty of room. Never have I had a problem with this, on my car, nor a customers.
The LCA Mount is Beefy and strong. I have been making Tractions Bars for a long time time and have plenty out on the market. NEVER have I had any issues with this design.
Everybody has there design choices. I have issues with yours Explicit that I would not offer to my customers. But this post is not about that, so I won't touch on them.

To Answer your other questions
1: Yes your rad can stay in place during install. It does not need to be drained. Just undue the top brackets and lift it out of the way during istall.
2: Due to the lack of rubber with the replacement be Hiem Joints, The steering nimbleness is improved. The rubber can be binding and does not allow for as much suspension travel as the free moving hiem joint does. Also because of the lack of rubber, there is less flex in the whole front assembly.

What about the EG radiator "lean" that most of these require? Does the radiator sit straight up and down without notching the hood, or does it have to lean towards the block to clear the hood?
you do not have to tak out the radiator
you can use 1/2 size or full size, your choice (both tabs are on the bars for them
there is no lean in the radiator
you do have to make your own brackets for the top on the 1/2 size
i've launched it about 3-4 times, between 3-5k, nothing crazy, i have 1g azenis on Hx's and had no wheel hop what so ever! they spun a bit and them i was gone! i've taken a few tight turns, but nothing crazy, i want to make sure i TQ'd everything down enough before i go nuts with it, lol
