i just bought a 1994 prelude si!!!!
i sold my hatch to buy a prelude si because of the torque.......and they just look sweet as hell........but anyways, i just wanted to introduce that to all prelude owners and let you know that i will be asking questions shortly........heres one, can you use regular unleaded, or do you have to use premium??........im only 16 and need to save some cash
congradulations welcome to the club
i have a 93 si and i love it. do not use anything less than 91...previous owner put in 87...my baby is still recovering. the extra 20cents isn't going to kill you bro. better to have a reliable engine than a couple extra dollars.

im not sure, but i think they put PREMIUM FUEL ONLY on the dash and manual and fuel tank fill port for a reason...

The reason for the higher octane rating is b/c it has a fairly high compression ratio(10:1), if you put low octane fuel it will stuggle to idle and you will probably loose miles to a tank. I buy 93 octane and put only sythetic oil in my baby. Just trust us it is worth the extra 2 dimes.
Do some research everting has been covered in the archives, you have much to learn about this wonderful car.

I think the h22 needs premium more than the h23. Try it for yourself. I can't tell any difference 1 thing for sure. DON'T use ARCO gas. That's the only gas that makes my baby cry.
id say its not a huge deal to use 87 cause the ecu will change the timing to keep the motor from detonating...so you wont do permanent damage but i wouldnt beat on it with 87 in the tank...i have always used at least 91
