Hi,
My friends 1988 accords radiator fan runs even when the vehicle is shut off. What could cause this? Thanks in advance for the help.

 

is this car fuel injected or not?

how long does the fan run after car has been shut off??? OR
constantly = never shuts off ??

also chk to make sure radiator is not low on coolant .

 

Yes, it is an LX-I, it just runs constanly after the car is shut down. Thanks for all the help so far, I'm going to have him check the coolant

 

Im not sure but my guess is a relay!

 

Fan timer module is different from the fan relays. I think the fan timer module is responsible for turning off the fan even if the fan switch is stuck.

So it's possible there's more than one problem. Stuck fan switch & bad timer module. Check the fan switch by measuring continuity thru it when it's cold. If you can rule that out, that leaves the timer.
