Default EG vs. EF

I noticed that alot of top builders out there seem to chose the eg chasis to build there sports car out of. Why is that? I was just wondering because i dont really see ef's being built and setup by pro set up shops.

really? I love the eg body style it looks great but man nothing beats an ef set up right in my book. I guess it is a love thing. Well my question was more on a tech from like the chasis geometry, or body weight, or other advantages it would have over the ef?

I am all for the ef's though, perhaps it is because there is alot of extra parts and **** for the eg like front lips, engine set ups and other things.

EG is newer
Weighs about the same
Easier to find
Most have less rust
B Series swaps with little modification
Cheap parts...

The list goes on.

its a matter of taste and parts avail

egs have more parts for sure and cleaner parts are easier to find

plain and simple=everything done to an EF is twice as hard as doing it to an EG.

maybe because there's a shitload more room in the engine bay..they're already obd1....the axles sit better in those cars...b-series engines bolt right without an aftermarket mount kit....most 94-01 integra parts bolts right up....they're easier to find....basically weigh about the same as our cars....more aftermarket parts available....most likely be in better shape....what am i forgetting

I still think that the eg is great and man it looks really good to i think in the future im going to have both my ef hatch and eg hatch, i was almost thinking of trading my ef for an eg but couldnt decide. I think both cars are great obviously one is harder to build but that makes what it is. Would you guys consider trading your ef's for an equaly clean eg? Kind of tempting.

always great true info from you thanks again man you rock and where the hell do you pull that info from? Yeah so it seems that the draw is due to the easyness and choice of body style no other advantages or disadvantages?

The EG is 10 times easier to modify. That's a major difference.

there seems to be more of an aftermarket support for eg's. engine bay has more room for your b, h or k swap and turbo stuff. bumpers, lips, lights, etc, seem easier to find. there are more eg's then ef's making part hunt easier and probably cheaper. for the weigh of a crx that seats 2, you can have an eg that seats 4. if i could have gotten a eg hatch, i would have, i miss having 4 seats. kinda a pain at times when your hauling people around with only 2 seats in the crx. i sometimes just have someone sit on the tray in the back where the JDM backseat would be. insurance on the eg would probably be a cheaper then an ef crx since it would not be listed as a sports car.
