Default dented trunk pan

I figured i'd let some 4th gen guys know that it may not be a great sport to jack the rear up from. It's reccomended to jack the car upn from the rear center tow hook, but months ago when I thought my jack waslosing pressure, it was actually my trunk being dented in which lead to a hole being exposed just under the threaded rod goes to hold the spare wheel down. I bondoed it, but when i loked at it yesterday it was raised up somehow and probably leaking.. i'm probably going to clean everything out, and epoxy from the inside and outside of the trunk and maybe use some subberized undercoating on the outside too to prevent eater leaks... just a heads up guys, jack up from the rear cross-member instead unless you want to wind up in my boat. I have no idea why honda thought that was a tough enough spot...

That doesn't work when you need both wheels off the ground at once...

Thanks for the tip, OP. I've always used that spot for my rear jacking point, as it says in the FSM. Anyone else have problems like this?

so you're saying your trunk was dented from when you jacked up the car from the rear tow hook?

do you jack the car up and then lower it onto jackstands or just put the jackstands under there while the jack holds the weight? ive never heard of this happening before...which makes me think your hook is defective...or it was something you did wrong.......

it happened sooner than I coudl slide in teh jack stands. basically while i was jacking it up, it was slowly caving in. I thought the jack was losing pressure somewhere so i turnerd the handle to the right but it already ws all the way, my tunk was open, and that's when I noticed a huge lump in it
