Default Anyone here using Recaro SPG w/ Bride rails?

I've search around the forum and I can't find much further info regarding which rail to go for on a Recaro SPG(small size).

I was looking for a set of Vision low position rails before and I posted long time ago for a part# of it. Searched around again these few days and most of the threads are FS or about SPG style seats. Not a lot of info on which rail to use.

I know quite some ppl here would recommend Wedge or MemoryFab's product. However a lot of products got a huge holes on the side mounts & floor mounts. Which I think the bolt may not be able to hold the seat in place under high speed impact. I'm currently using a Buddy club rail on my 00' Si which doesn't go low enough. So I went browsing around for a little more and saw the Bride FG & FX type mounts. I like the FX type since I'm paying for a new seat of mount already so might as well go for something safer and FIA approved.

http://www.tees-usa.com/seatrail.html

Since I've heard that Recaro SPG goes fine with Bride rail before. So I sent an email to Tee's USA to confirm about that a couple weeks ago but no reply at all. I know quite some of you uses Recaro SPG on your car for HPDE, auto-x & race events. So here are my questions:

1. Anyone of you here have experience on the FX/FG type mount with Recaro SPG? Will they go together at all or not?

If so do u have a pic of the FX type mount? I think it uses the holes on the side mounts to adjust the position of the seat but I like to see how it really is in real.

2. Anyone of you had good experience with any Bride dealers in the States or Canada? Or which shop would u recommend on getting Bride products coz I don't wanna wait for a few months for the item.

3. Does all the bride rails comes in a whole set(side mount, slider, floor mount & stock buckle holder) or u will have to pick your own part to make up an assembly? It saids "A03NPO" side plates on Tee's USA's price list so that's why I wonder if I have to pick my own side plate at all.

4. Any other low position rails that u recommend of if you have a picture of it?

Pls share your experience, TKS!

I originally had the Vision low position seat brackets that I bought from AJ Racing for my Integra, a couple years back, which looked like this:

I didn't think very highly of them. A while back, I switched to using the Recaro sliders and Bride small side brackets w/ a Sparco base for my Recaro SPG. The Recaro side mounts I had left the seat too high IMO. Currently, I like the position of my seat, although I think 1-2" lower would be even better.

The Memory Fab stuff is similar to some JDM seat brackets I have seen in some of RCrew Racing's cars. They position the seat very low.

BTW, if anyone is interested, I have a set of Vision low position seat brackets for a DC2 for sale.

TKS for your quick reply.

One of my friend got a Sparco Evo with Sparco slider installed in his EM1. The problem is the seat gets too offset to the back of the car but I'm not as tall as him(5ft 9 Vs 5ft 5 or so). I have a pair of Recaro side mounts that came with the SPG too but like u said I won't sit low with that.

So what u meant u just bought the Bride small side bracket without the base then? I like to sit 1" lower too but the rear horizontal bar & the buckle holder of my Buddy Club rails doesn't let my seat go any lower.

go with all recaro products, they are awsome, and the sliders are very tight. Also go with the recaro side mounts

Tks for your reply also.

The problem with Recaro product is they're SUPER DUPER expensive and sits very high. Most Recaro bases for Recaro SR3 are a b!tch to align(except some OEM EK9/DC2 ones as I remember). That's why I don't wanna go with Recaro's seat rails.

About the price, every slider i have seen besides the recaro is crappy and has slop in it, yes they are cheaper but they are junk.

i don't they sit high at all.

I bought the Bride side mounts only because I already had the Recaro sliders, while being relatively cheap. I forgot to mention, my aforementioned combo of Recaro/Bride/Sparco seat mounting was lower by about 1-1.5" lower compared to the old style Vision seat bracket (no longer shown on Vision's website) I used. I'm 6ft tall.

Regarding your Buddy Club rails, why not just cut out the offending bar and weld in the horizontal bar lower?

yea im gonna disagree with you here

Im using a sparco evo with Nagisa auto ultra low rails. they are dual locking (one on each slider) and sit me nearly as low as humanly possible in a s14. there is NO slop and are very good quality. they cost about 30$ more than the base/slider and sidemount from sparco.

ive also used the same seat with bride ultra low rails and was very pleased. no slop, easy to use, etc.

the sparco stuff does sit you very high in comparison. and FYI all of sparco's bases are made by a company called Wedge engineering. you can go directly to them and get it cheaper and faster if you go that route.

and to the origional poster, if the recaro stuff is based on a standard sidemount design the bride stuff will work fine

Wrong, the latest Sparco bases are no longer made by Wedge Engineering.

Ahhhhhhh I see. I really should ask the body repair guy that I know and see what he can do with my Buddy Club rail too. And see if it's possible to fill up part of the holes coz some of the holes are a little too big. Don't know if washers will hold the bolt tight in place or not.

Kamin: How much did the Nagisa auto rails cost u? And may I know how tall u're?

I have a Sparco EVO using a Bride FG rail on the passenger side of my S2000.... no problem, other than the extremely tight fit in the car itself....

whats that have to do with anything? you looked at the wedge part guide? the numbers are nearly identical except sparco adding 500 to half the stuff and 400 to the other.

Have you actually seen a Wedge bracket or even a Sparco bracket for that matter? The Wedge brackets require the use of those adjustable tabs. Big difference. That difference in part number is very relevant.

What a Wedge Engineering bracket looks like

um that is seat and car specific. not all of those bases have that height adjustable bar.

no ive never seen a wedge or sparco base im making all of this up. you call wedge and sparco, get a base part number. make sure you tell wedge its for a sparco seat and what seat. you will get the same part number as sparco.

for ***** sake i have a supra base from both wedge and sparco here in the shop. they are identical. for gods sake you can see the wedge sticker UNDER the sparco part number sticker

Notice at the top of the page it says "Here are a few of the plethora of products we carry." They have them and are bliss to deal with.
