Question about arp wheel studs
I got a 93 civic hatch and I'm have to put the arp wheel studs because of the rims and slicks I have.I was wondering if its possible to put then in without separating the wheel bearing?
It is possible in the rear end if the studs are the sock length. If they are extended studs I doubt they will fit.
It is not possible in the front end unless you cut a hole in the dust sheild and grind half the head off the stud. I would NOT suggest any of that if your trying to "strenghten" your hubs. And even that technique would only apply to a stock length stud...
Just rent the hub pulling tool at Autozone (or wherever). It will give you a chance to change your front wheel bearings too.
Be aware that sometimes the bearings come apart when pulling the hubs. This is a bad situation because the rear will leave the inner race stuck to the spindle. That will probably require some carful cutting, or some professional attention...
