Default Obd2 to OBd1 in 99 ek hatch

well I got the harness, and ecu. I pluged it in and now it revs up to 1500 and then drops over and over. What is going on here? I heard I need to replace the iacv sensor with a 2 wire one. I bought the plug and it does not fit. Can I just cut the orange wire? to make it run off the 2 wires?

First, try cleaning the iacv and its connectors, along with using some dielectric grease.
If that doesnt work, and Im sure it wont since youre implying this happened once you went obd1, unplug your evap purge soleniod connector near the plastic cover over the injectors

I read that the 96-00dx uses a 3 wire iacv, and all others use the 2 wire. Is there a way to convert it? With out a new intake mani?
