Hello people,Ive only owned my integra for a couple of weeks and was just wondering if top end noise(tappets)was normal,also would differnt cams cause excess valve noise?

B-series motors are notorious for a faint ticking sound. You can do a valve adjustment and see if that reduces the noise, but it is nothing to worry about. My cams didn't seem to increase the ticking by any noticeable amount.

 

ok,I havent listened to any other integra's to compare the noise but mine does seem noisy

 

Do a valve adjustment, get them in spec.

 

They were adjusted at the weekend and are still loud,but when i removed the valve cover the cam gears were adjustable so im not sure if it has non standard camshafts

 

You should contact the previous owner to find out. You do not want to assume wrong and cause engine failure.
