Default Fluidyne rad install problems

I'm having one hell of a time getting my Fluidyne 1/2 rad to fit in my crx. It's supposed to be a direct fit replacement but it's anything but that. The lower rad hose is touching the cross member and the lower mounting points are totally in the wrong place. I'm gonna have to trim the piece of metal I have marked off and fabricate mounting points where I have marked circles. Has anybody installed one of these rads in their car who might be able to shed some light on my problem. Any and all help apreaciated.

I completely cutout the section you have marked, and replaced it with a metal strip from homedepot, this is the only way I know for the 1/2 radiators to fit with a stock front crossmember..supposedly some of the aftermarket ones allow better fitment but I am not sure which ones.

Since when are the fluidyne 1/2 cores direct fit? Maybe for an EG, but not a CRX/EF.

Hack away my freind, and welcome too the world of EFs.

Is cutting that metal going to affect the rigidity of the front end.

get an aftermarket crossmember. if you have the cash, get a traction bar setup. but if all youre looking for is clearance, then you should look into a new member like one from innovative or l-con. otherwise get to cuttin'

No. A lot of drag cars cut that entire front peice off.

Anything but the L-con POS. It's all about the Full-Race bars.

Do you guys have any pics of Fluidyne half radiators, traction bars, and turbo setup? I'm finishing my CRX and need some ideas on how to mount my half rad.
