how to bleed jacks
i have like 3 jacks in my garage that doesnt go up all the way. I keep buying new ones. Cant i just fix the ones i have? can somebody tell me the correct way for bleeding jacks? thanks
Depending on what type of model you have its almost all the same. Just have to find the bleeder valve.
My case i have craftsman 1.5ton and 2.0ton floor jacks. If you lift the little plate to hold things youll see an area for a flat head to enter (thats your valve). Now rotate the handle all the way to the left (like your going to drop a car), until it doesnt move anymore. Start pumping like 4 or 5 times, then tighten it to raise a car and do 1 pump then release the valve a little until you see no more bubbles or hear anymore. Repeat again until you start to see hydro fluid coming out.
There should be a fill hole around the area that you could add gear oil to. I think some jacks require you to refill in the valve, taking it out all the way, filling up then bleeding.

go get a harbor freight jack. they need maintained every once in a while, but i haven't figured out how (the manual sucks, but the jack is great).
they're real low and work perfect for about a year, but then they start to fall down i just took it back to the store (twice now), said it was broken and they gave me a new one both times no questions asked. $140 for a great jack with a lifetime no questions asked warranty
i'm gonna try to figure out how to bleed this one though
