1999 2000 Civic OEM stereo stops playing CD's E-00

1999 2000 Civic OEM stereo stops playing CD's E-00
after my factory stereo has been playing a CD for awhile, 20 minutes or so, it wil read E 00 and then eject it.
If you put ANY cd back in, it will just reject them and won't even give them a chance.
so......it seems it needs a cleaning, service, alignement whatever.
Has anyone ever had theirs serviced?
I'm assuming this is a dealer only service.
My main question is:
If so, how much does it usually cost?
I heart my OEM cd player...but maybe it would be cheaper to just by a new deck.
