They let your passenger film with the camera in his hands and no helmets?

What the hell is going on at that track? Did you rent it for the day or something?

EDIT: I don't think I saw a single person take the proper line...

That's what I thought. Same thing happens to some of my friends in ON they drive on Shannonville without helmets as I remember.

The club I go autocross with in Vancouver doesn't allow passenger holding a camera when we are out on course. And it's much slower on speed compare with lapping events.

I guess it's good that u guys go lapping & share the fun but for your own safety use a M rated full face helmet at least.

WOW this is an honor.....To be in the presence of Micheal Schumacher himself. Get off your high horse ASSHAT. If you DO live in the area I'd be more then happy to sit in your car so you can show me how it's done LMFAO.

Then maybe you can sit in my car and tell me I'm missing lines. WHat a ******* tool.

This sounds like the kind of arrogance that'll keep you from learning how to drive.

Anyways, wtf was that, seriously? A preview for F&F4??

That right there is the most ignorant comment i ever read in the RR forum. If you cant take some constructive critism your always going to suck at driving.

Well pardon me, if my post seemed deragatory it's because of the complete lack of safety shown both in and around that track. I know you all probably don't go track racing all the time so you don't know that, but when you show such a complete lack of understanding of just how dangerous it is out there, you are going to be looked down upon.

Even if I did live in the area, I'd have to decline your invitation to sit in your car while you missed every true racing line on that track. I think a ride through the plains of the outback in a funny car would be less unsettling.

Good day sir, and be safe.

Here are the first things you need to do, if you really want to learn how to drive:

1. Realize you know nothing.
2. Leave your ego at home.

If you can do these two things, you can be receptive to criticism and formal instruction and actually get better.

Those ARE pathetic lines through the corners. And that wasn't racing, it was ricing.

I've seen plenty of groups rent SMP for an evening after we finished competing for the day, and in almost every instance it was a laugh to watch but in some cases it was scary. Plenty of ricers who carry themselves like they have what it takes to race, but don't have a clue what they're doing.

Do yourself a favour and get into auto-x or Solo 1 this year. You'll learn a ton and have a greater appreciation for safety.

I never said that we were amazing racers. However the first guy darkfag came off as a complete *******.
That's why not many people come to Honda-Tech anymore. Most people are on a high horse and think THEY know everything there is to know. NONE of you are in World Challenge,F1 etc etc so get off your horses and realize that no matter what caliber a racer you are YOU CAN ALWAYS LEARN and when you attack someone they will retaliate.

Now had DarkKnight said something CONSTRUCTIVE then maybe it would have been taken that way. Instead he decided to act like he knows it all and put people down. I'll tell you one thing that video does not show everyone there and there are a few guys that do know there **** and can drive really well but on the other hand there were some beginners and intermediates there as well.

Oh and to the guy talking about RICING. Not one of those cars are rice, they are all clean and we were having fun and that's what matters. Yes safety matters more then anything but you cannot tell everything from a short video.

Since our cars are rice I'll be at Cayuga(Toronto Motorsports Park) this Friday drag racing. I invite the person calling the cars rice to bring their car there and PULL BESIDE. Once again not being arrogant some people just have to learn how to talk to people and not talk **** about peoples cars. TBP this is your callout!!!!! Hopefully I'll see you there.

I did say something constructive. I said I didn't see anyone taking racing lines. That's not being on a high horse, anyone who knows what a racing line is can see that.

I'm sorry, but what's the first thing that happens in the in car cam? The lead car completely misses one or two turns and then spins. Wow.

Any cages? Any safety equipment at all? As far as I could tell it was open passing. Horrible horrible idea. That's doing something so stupid constructive criticism isn't necessary. Calling you an idiot and slapping you in the head is what is constructive at that point.

By the way, I live in Florida. PM me next time your 'down' here and I'll be happy to show you around the tracks and the proper racing line around them.

P.S. I saw at least 2, maybe more, cars come down that straight on the inside of the turn. And I don't think I saw a single one wait for the correct turn in point.

First off, you shouldn't take things people say on the internet so personally. Darknight didn't say anything that was obsurd. He said what he saw in the video and I must say, that was a joke! There weren't any proper line taken and it basically looked like a bunch of hoodrats on the track. I'm not downplaying Defcon by any means. I'm sure you guys have some sick rides and all however this is not the issue at hand. Safety is the issue.

Furthermore, its funny how you are calling out TPB when you know nothing about him. What makes you think he drag races?

Lastly, you are knocking everyone on this forum saying that if they are not F1 drivers, don't know how to drive? are you kidding me? There are some very expereinced road racers that on here that would make a mockery of you on the track!

I didn't say the cars were rice (but judging by the defcon site I just visited perhaps they are). The video title indicates racing twice. No where did I see racing. What I did witness was a group acting recklessly on a track with no regard to safety.

Sorry, but I'm not a 1/4 mile person. I don't know much about it and don't purport to know anything about. Your defensive attitude on the other hand would suggest that you don't have much to learn (lol). Any criticism of the abhorent lines taken were all attacked by you which clearly shows you really don't know what you're talking about. Drag racing and lapping at a track are completely different disciplines. Driving fast in a straight line does not make a road racer.

Good luck with the drags at Cayuga.

In all seriousness. After looking at defcon racing's site, I think you guys have no place on a road course. But I guess that was obvious from the video.

This is part of your problem. Not only do you obviously not understand what anyone is saying to you, you are basically asking a baseball player to come and challenge you to a basketball match after he criticized your pitching arm.

Haha...

Threads like this make my day.

The whole time I was watching that video I was looking for a helmet and wondering why the camera wasn't secured to the cage... oh wait, they didn't have cages.

Why in the world would someone participate in an event like this?

I mean, even I can see that this is dangerous, and I don't have much experience at all. I would think it would be weird to drive an autocross course without a helmet, much less a road course.

The even funnier part of this thread is the guy getting all offended because of people's comments and then calling them out. lol. Seriously, is this guy in high school? Who does that?

And those cars ARE rice. But guess what? Even if you drive a super clean k20 DC2 or whatever you can still be a complete ricer if you drive like a one. It's the ricer mentality that has been displayed.

Anyways, I was told to work UP to road racing, which is why I autocross. I would rather learn the limits of my car and my abilities while driving around cones in an empty parking lot in controlled conditions than on a road course where I could smack the wall with one mistake.
