I drive a '97 prelude with the stock CD player still in it. I was listening to a cd last week, then next thing I knew, it spit the cd out and put up a code PE-O

anyone know what that is? the radio still works, just cd won't. I put a cd in, it tries to read it, then kicks it back out and puts up that code. HELP!!

 

Is it a burnt cd? If so, the stock radio sometime likes to play them and sometimes doesn't. Sounds like you may need to invest into a new aftermarket cd player

 

yea that's what it is. It'll do it for some regular CD's also. I've found that if you turn the car off for a lil bit and come back it'll play that burnt cd. Im so fed up with the stock stereo but I dont feel like spending money for a new one. More important things to get

 

no i was playing a regular cd, it kicked it out. i put in a burnt cd, same, tried another regular cd and same thing. I don't want to buy a new cd player

 

also i don't have the manual for the car. does it say anything in there?

 

have you tried putting in one of those cleaner cds? The cd's that will clean the "eye" inside of your cd player?

 

the manual only has E-00,01,02. for 00,01 it say clean the disc and for 02 it says take radio in for repair.
