ATS FD and Toda Flywheel????
Will a car making around 210whp benefit from a ATS FD and a Toda Flywheel?? my parents are going to hong kong and might pick those up for me.......obviously at the dragstrip I'll run slicks....just some input would be cool
The Toda Flywheel will help for sure. You may have some traction problem with the ATS in 1st gear, but just get some better tires and you should be fine.
But you better call ahead and find out how much they are in HK and if they have it in stock. It could be trouble if your parents don't know much about those parts.

Is there big of a difference in acceleration with the ATS over the JDM final drive? It almost seems the final drives would get you out of gear to fast.

I used to have the Spoon 4.857 and 4.785 FD. I also ran the ATS 1st with 4.785 but acceleration is very hard. Maybe you should get the ATS 1-3-4-5 and I am pretty sure achieve better results over FD.

Yeah, I am not into dragging that much, and am most likely not going to touch my motor for a while.. I have a JDM 4-1, AEM CAI, and Apex N1... I was considering either a JDM Final Drive or ATS, what do you guys think? Which one will I appreciate more now, AND if I get some Toda Bs in the long run?
So are you guys saying, if I don't get B's and stick with just bolt ons, I will appreciate the ATS a lot more?
Stop being a ***** and buy the damn thing already!
Seriously, with my spec b's and ATS traction isn't THAT big of an issue... (keep in mind I have the mildly sticky stock re010's...)
You'll run something sticky anyway at the drag strip so..... DO IT DO IT DO IT!!!!!
.....Otherwise I'll call you a sissy for your remaining time here on h-t.

AJR: I don't think the 1-2-3-4-5 is necessary. Just the 3-4-5. The 1st is a tad longer than stock, but w/ a 4.4FD thats not a problem. 2nd is close, too, right?
So basically the 1-2 set is a waste.

.....IMHO, the stock 1-2 shift is the worst for rpm drop. Sadly that doesn't change with FD swap.
But thankfully, it gets a lot better with lightened flywheel replacement.
