ok...this is an edit. i'll explain the situation better.

my 1990 crx hf i bought was 500 bucks. it was a beater car. the car's tranny keeps a weird noise whenever the clutch pedal is not depressed. depress it and it will be normal. i searched and made a thread and confirmed that maybe it was the input shaft bearing.

i bought a zc longblock for 75 bucks. it needed a rebuild and i was thinking...****, i'll just get an si tranny and bolt it up to that after im done rebuilding. so i ordered a "si tranny" off of ebay. turns out its not an si but i still paid for it. got half my money back from the idiot cause i didnt want to ship it back cause i'll end up paying the shipping of it.

so i kept the damn tranny. not sure if its an hf or 5 speed dx so i just assumed that its an hf. the tranny was an 88. the main shaft is a 21 spline so i had to get a honda accord clutch to make it fit on the 212 mm flywheel.

i dropped the 90 crx hf tranny out of my crx and wtf!!! the passenger side axle is not coming off...but the drivers side is off. ok. so i was like, i'll just take the axle off at the boot and see if i can get the other part off the tranny when its out of the car.

the bitch wont come out after prying and prying...when you spin it, it makes a werid noise...kind of like grinding...but it still spins. so i found myself a 90 crx hf axle...i bought it from civic4lif...it goes good with my 90 tranny and goes into the 88 tranny fine...but when you spin the axle...the differential doesnt spin? so im confused as heck. oh and the bearing on the axle he gave me was different...it had like 5 or 6 little bearings...while the one on my 90 hf tranny had 3 big ones.

so my question is...whats the spline counts on all crxs...inside spline count and outside spline counts. meaning the spline count that the trannys have and the ones that the hubs have...i need them for all years and all models of the crx/civic. 88-91.

and please help...this ***** bugging me out man.

umm...i just said that i bought 90 crx hf axles. they fit on my old tranny, but not on my other tranny. so does that mean that the other tranny is not an hf?

guess i'll count teeth tomorrow. oh wait...that link you gave only covered the outside splines...not the inside. or are they the same count?

 

cmon bumps...need some legit answers.

 

There was just a question about this the other day. The 88's have different axles than the later years.

 

whats the spline count on the differential? this aint helping.
