I made a *BLING* odyssey battery hold down
oh hells yeah... made this aluminum hold down for my buddy who has an LS1FC also, he bought the 14.5 pound Odyssey battery and saw a similar hold-down on ebay for bug bucks. I took some measurements and drew up a print then worked on the mill for a few hours and the lathe for a half hour and came up with this. hot damn it super shiny in the sun all buffed up and polished. the entire assembly weighs around 2 pounds with all of the hardware. no pics of it installed but you get the drift... my DIY projects are getting better!

awesome work, but instead of drilling all those holes, you should have milled out so that only an X shape remains at the bottom. also, you don't need those massive side pillars, shave those down some more, or go with tube instead of solid. I mean 2 lbs is a lot for a battery hold down. anyways, great work in terms of taking something from an idea to a product.

looks nice but you prolly could have trimmed the weight by at least half by shaving more metal off. its not like its under any stress where it would need to be that thick. eitherway it looks good though

Thought the same thing. I'd be very careful with that thing.
