Stephane "Frenchy" Beauregard named WD-40 NHRA Crew Chief of the Race for VA
STEPHANE BEAUREGARD NAMED WD-40 NHRA SPORT COMPACT CREW CHIEF OF THE RACE FOR THE NHRA VIRGINIA SPORT COMPACT NATIONALS
GLENDORA, Calif. – Stephane Beauregard (Hot Rod), crew chief and driver of a 1987 Dodge Shelby, has been named the WD-40 NHRA Sport Compact Crew Chief of the Race for the NHRA Virginia Sport Compact Nationals in Dinwiddie, Va.
Beauregard, whose nickname is Frenchy, comes to the NHRA Xplod Sport Compact Racing Series from Granby in the province of Quebec, Canada. He won the award for his consistency during a rain shortened event in Virginia. In each round up to the final he ran a career best to end the weekend with an E.T of 8.15 seconds at 169.34 mph. Beauregard came up short in the quest for his first Wally when he finished second to Ron Lummus in the final.
“It feels great to win the award,” said Beauregard. “People are noticing the hard work I put in to keep my car running. I am the crew chief for my own car, so I put a lot of time into it.”
By winning the WD-40 NHRA Sport Compact Crew Chief of the Race award, Beauregard, will be honored at the opening ceremonies, Sunday, May 7 at the Nitto NHRA Sport Compact Springnationals.
“I use WD-40 to lubricate my ball joints,” continued Beauregard. “It is much better than grease, because it keeps the dust off. The WD-40 keeps them clean the whole time.”
At each race stop for the NHRA Xplōd Sport Compact Racing Series the WD-40 Company will offer an award to recognize the NHRA Sport Compact Crew Chief of the Race. The winning Crew Chief of the Race will earn $250, a plaque, and will receive recognition during the opening ceremonies at each NHRA Sport Compact Series event and on NHRAsportcompact.com.

Classic underdog story. No fancy Renegade trailer, no fancy rig, no ultra flashy racecar. Old tow vehicle, small trailer, 87' racecar, run 8.1's and gets runner up.
