Default vx block P08 head = d15b vetc?

I know people take the d16 block and drop a vtec head on it for the "mini-me".....could I do the same with the VX's 1.5 but instead use a P08 head(head from a d15b vtec)? Would that be close to a d15b vtec setup?

yeah pressty much. as far as i knowt eh vx 1.5 even has the same rods as the d16 so you have a good R/S ration.

well, you can use the vx block crank and rods, but the pistons are useless w/ any other head besides the P07 unless you are building for boost. the P07 rods are the same lenght as d16 rods, but they are smaller and the journals are smaller. the D15b uses 1.6l rods and rod journals, w/ a differant stroke crank.

the PMS pistons will work and yield 10.8:1 or so compression, but after all this work you still basically got a D15b w/ small rods, and end up spending about the same as a D15b vtec.

yeah, i figured this out after thinking about doing the build, cuz i got the p28 head manifold, and stock vx. added up the cost of both, and it was very similar.
