I was thinking about doing this to my car as well.
This is what your talking about right? The Cali Type R?

or the Cali Thunder.

or the Cali Bomb

You need to be more specific when you say Cali conversion.
I got these from http://www.andysautosport.com/acura.html
The lights are mounted to the bumper so you dont have to hassle with welding the mounting brackets to the frame. Also it fits perfect that way.
The kits run about $1500

No re-wiring, unless you plan on using Supra corners for your blinkers. You might have to extend the wires to your headlights. Make sure whoever you buy it from makes the kit right and gaurantee's against a resin rich bumper. I'm totally against it after getting mine, too much money, and for what? So I look agressive and fast but I'm not that fast

My friend did the Cali type R on his '96 GSR. It looks like ish IMHO... With the kit, headlights, installation, and everything, he was in for like 3 grand... Not a very wise investment in my mind... Again IMHO...

Everyone has a right to a opinion.

If thats the kit the guy likes then he should get it. Am I right? I dunno its just funny how he asks a question about a kit and you guys just come in and say its "fugly".

I second that but actually IMHO with that much money to spend your askin for a Drag3 I'd rather have Drag3 than go with the conversion
to each to their own taste good luck with your plans.

or the Cali Thunder.

This should be re-named the Cali Blunder.

This post should be in the appearance forum.

In my opinion, this "kit" is worse than altezzas, and costs a helluva lot more. Some kid around here actually has one, and it looks f***king horrible. For the record though, the person with the black teg' (teggerLS) that posted their pics has by far the best looking one Ive seen.

You know what popped into my head when I read this???

Anyone ever see Caddyshack w/ Rodney Dangerfield?? when he's in the golf shop and he see's that plaid hat and says my god this is the ugliest thing I've ever seen, and then he see's the guy in the store w/ it on staring at him...and he says...But it looks good on you though...ROFLMAO!!!!!

Cali Conversion is nasty... Total rice, and ugly... For $1,500 get better suspension or OEM kit, and some cams.

i got mine for $500. did alittle modifications because i had an intercooler. its pretty easy. just mount the lights on the bumper and slap that baby on.. make sure it fits right... thats the major mod of it all. or you can do it the other way and weld the lights on. i rather go with a s14 or OEM JDM conversion.

the cali typeR conversion is played out. thats why i SOLD it.

Car looks good. 3K is a little much I'd spend on something cosmetic, but if you like it then cool

When doing kits and such keep in mind the resale value of the vehicle (unless you plan to keep it for ever and a day).

Either get the JDM or silvia s14 conversion, I love the headlights on s14s, and they look alot better on a teg than cl headlights.
