headgasket blew
this happend on sat. morning well i was driving to my friends house which is like 100 miles away from where i live, about have way there my water temp gauge starts to go up about 3/4 so i was like wtf so i kept on driving and it didnt go down and after awhile it started to go even higher, then i started to smell coolent so i bulled over to side of the highway and coolent was shooting out of the headgasket, so thankfully i was following my brother in his car, so i didnt want to risk warping my head so i locked it up and went with him, so after i left my friends house a couple hours later i got to my car filled it up with coolent and started going home bout have way home i looked behind me and there's big clouds of white smoke behind my car so i turned off the engine right then, so my car has been there ever since, and my question is maybe this wasnt a bad problem because i have a spark plug stuck in my head so i needed the head off anyway and i have a b18b head sitting in my room right now, and my question is what headgasket should i get, oem or something to raise the compression a little im not turboing it, p.s i have a 92 DA b18a if that helps thanks (sorry for long topic)
Since you didn't ask about an Intake or exhaust, your not gonna get many answers.
I asked the same questios and I got jack. So i'll tell ya what I learned and what I'd do.
I'd buy a thinner headgasket along w/the Hondata IM gasket. Also, you need to have the head checked for any leaks. It would be so insanely stupid to just replace the head gasket and not have the head checked to see if it's warped or cracked.
It shoudl be anywhere from $50-$100.00 to get the head checked.
Hope that helps.
